OK we gigged with it last night, went almost 4 hours without a break, and Leilani's shoulder isn't nearly as tired as it was with the PM10.

Also for the kind of music we play, the DF has better tone. It's capable of being edgier and with more presence. The neck scale is a big longer than she is used to, but she only short-fretted a few times and quickly recovered (I noticed, the audience didn't).

She is still thinking about selling the PM10 but not quite ready to place an ad.

Does anybody know how much they are worth? (in good condition with some but not excessive fret wear).

FWIW—there’s been a PM10 available for $270 on the Guitar Center website for at least a month; so maybe that’s a good ballpark asking price?

I’d suggest trying to selll that PM10 on reverb and you’ll likely get more traffic and a better price.
Sell as is but with free shipping and it might go fairly easy.
GC prices are lower than any place else but Reverb gets better more knowledgable buyers I think.
I watch the site for fly prices and pm20 pro prices more than anything else.
GC sent mine with loosened strings barely wrapped in bubble wrap that allowed it to move quite a lot in the box....it survived, and how it did is something I still wonder about.

If she decides to sell, Reverb sounds like a good idea.

I bought a nice, used Yamaha tenor sax there that was listed by a SamAsh store in Texas.

I suspect she will decide to sell it, but right now it's the busy gigging season in Florida and we are working feverishly between gigs to finish up 2 style 'disks' and 3 fake 'disks' aftermarket products for Band-in-a-Box. When things slack off we'll probably clean it up and she will sell it. We are not collectors but players. Between the two of us we will have 3 DF guitars, 2 gigging and one spare - 'just in case' (the show must go on).

It's not damaged, but I wouldn't want to buy a guitar that isn't as nice as the seller can make it. So cleaning and oiling the fretboard, cleaning and waxing the body, and making sure it's as nice as we can make it would reflect well on us when the buyer opens the box.

We play mostly Baby-Boomer era rock with some contemporary 'adult' songs mixed in plus some country, jazz, Caribbean, Latin-American, disco, blues, and other assorted genres. Both Leilani and I think the DF she bought sounds better for our kind of music than the PM. I think the DiMarzio pickups on the PM are better suited for more mellow music. Plus it's lighter on her shoulder (she is only about 110lbs)

I've been gigging the adult audience since 1985. In Florida it's a good, steady, decent paying market. Much more reliable than working clubs. When we started, it was mostly swing-era jazz, Frank Sinatra, etc. As the years went by the oldsters died off, and new 50 year old folks came to take their places. Now it's definitely Baby Boomer music from the late 50s to the late 80s era songs. My how time flies.

Day off today, nobody hires a band on Super Bowl day, we won't watch, but work on getting the BiaB stuff finished up (I'm not a sports fan, music is my passion).

jb63 beat me to it....Interesting to read how things morph music-wise over the years.

Playing old rock is fun but for live music I prefer live jazz over the nostalgia rock scene.

That being said I saw the band Head East about ten years after their big hits had petered out and they were playing the bar circuits.
First thing said was “We’ve been playing for 20 yrs, you won’t hear our old music tonight, we only play our new music now.”, i.e. “Never been any reason” wasn’t heard or even noodled around with....
The depth of talent and the “new” music was impressive.
They never mentioned recording anything new, they toured and enjoyed playing the tunes that made them happy and told the story of the band after the fame faded.

.38 Special was the headliner....and in all honesty they were ok but never exuded the joy of playing Head East brought to the stage that night.
The “warm up” band was remarkably better and more fun because they just wanted to and were having fun playing for the crowd.
That show made me realize having fun playing is the more important thing even if you’re not a great guitar player (>me).

I’m certainly glad you two can have fun playing and put food on the table for a living.
Keep up the gigging, it will keep you moving.

Making music is supposed to be fun. That's why they call it "PLAYing" music.

No idea that there was a PM30 either existing or planned. Judging by the serial # is was made in May of 2005, the same year as my PM20 which was made in January. Very good looking guitar.

Sort of going the direction of the later Pro version, but strangely without the string thru design which is featured on the PM20.
