I just wanted to share a quick mod I did for the backplate cover of my 94' Deluxe Fly, I was always really annoyed to work on my fly setup because I had to unscrew and screw the backplate but after a saw a video of Andre Tonelli on Youtube who does this mod to every Fly he owns I decided to copy him and do my own Velcro mod.
What I like is that it doesn't affect the stock condition, velcro can be removed without any damage to the instrument, here are some pics below:

How often are you changing things back there?
I'm a relatively new Fly player, so is that something I should keep in mind?
Have you ensured connectivity between the electro-conductive paint inside the cavity and the back of the cover plate so it's still grounded and doing its job?

I'm not sure about point, I know Steve Vai uses the same on his guitars so I guess it should be fine... I'm only a bedroom player and m rig is fully digital so I really can't tell...

It depends, right now I'm trying to test ou custum gauge strings between 8's and 9's so It's useful for me and I think if you want to swap out a piece it's easier but it's just my take.

Definitely not. I only ever needed to remove the cover plates when pots and switches inevitably got a little scratchy over time and some contact cleaner action was required. Even later models (that don't have the tension wheel sticking through the body anymore) have a slot in the cover plate that leaves the internal spring tension wheel accessible. The original case candy even included a thin metal rod for exactly that task. So no worries when adjusting to new string gauges.
