FS: 2001 Parker Fly Supreme

Post by Goldtop 57 »

Hi FLYing folks,

I decided to sell my wonderful axe. Took me some months to take that step - after all, I had the electronics modded to make it even more versatile, to make truly *my* guitar. But Ialmost don't play guitar anymore, and I cannot see that coming back soon.

So here she is:

viewtopic.php?p=8135#p8135

I am based in Germany, but I will ship to anywhere on the planet. If you are interested, please get info on the shipping costs from your end, and I will do the same from here. Also, please inform yourself about import tariffs to your country as well as the current exchange rate EURO to your currency, so you'll have a realistic idea of the final price.

My asking price is 4500€.

If you have questions, feel free to get in touch.

Kind regards,
Oliver

I think you have to be patient. And also advertise on reverb. Much greater chance of exposure there.

+1 what Patzag said. It looks like ~270 people saw your post here in ten days, but your asking price and the costs associated with shipping from the EU might appeal to a smaller number of potential customers.

I'm also reminded of some insights from fellow Fly Clone members in response to your post from just a few months back:

colliderman wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2024 9:33 am I think it's a buyers market at the moment. There have been a couple examples of mint 100% stock Supremes which have sold for top dollar recently, as pointed out already in this thread, but there's also been some priced at a premium that have been sitting for months unsold.

There's been a 99 for sale for at least 6 months that the guy cannot move at what he's asking (which has been all over the place). It recently has been relisted on Reverb for $5595 which is somewhat inexplicable as just a few weeks ago that guitar on Reverb was down to $5295. I've seen that guitar posted on other sites where he's asking even less than that and no one is buying. Now, that guitar has a nasty chunk out of the lacquer so yours in definitely in better shape, but I'd probably value them similarly as yours has a couple small dings and electronics mods.
Probably will just take some time.

Importing from the US to EU can be a pain in the neck. It probably isnt easier the other way around.

Why is that? I imported watches from the US to Germany, and it took time, but was quite hassle-free.

Thx for the replies so far. I consider putting it on reverb.

Guitar from EU to US sucks. :|

US postal service import regulations don't accept packages beyond one meter in length, which most hard cases in cardboard exceed (lucky if you're shipping headless instruments).

That leaves delivery services which are always more expensive (around USD 350 minimum, depending on service/details much more). Plus delivery companies are always a potential source for anything from minor inconveniences to catastrophy-level problems. I've grown to hate them all over the years.

Add insurance, VAT, and potential other extra costs on top.

Greetings...

I knew it was bad but not THAT bad. The other way around has the problem that the import taxes can get really high making the purchase of a guitar from the US or Japan not very economical and more risky compared to staying in the EU market. Especially when importing from Japan where guitars are seemingly cheaper and cooler (thinking of my buddies Ibanez JPM).
