An Homage to Ken's Archtop work

Post by Patzag »

I stumbled on this ...

https://www.bluearchguitars.com/

I immediately thought "ripoff" but very soon realized this was a work of love, not thievery, and credit was given where it is due.

Beautiful instruments.

Even knowing what to expect, I experienced the same series of emotions (without even being an archtop guy).

In the age old argument of form verses function, both come together in exquisite harmony here. The round soundhole I believe was made to project the sound to the listener. Here, modern apertures give the player an advantage of being charmed by directed resonance from the depth of the soul of the instrument one cradles.
