Re: Radial Nitefly Worth It?

I have had a few and I definitely think they are great guitars. Its hard to compare them to the revolutionary design that is a Parker guitar, though, but as far as guitars go, they are fantastic. I'm a fan of rosewood necks and I've had 2 USA DF guitars with that neck and one I will never let go. Th...

I like knobs, so I vote for upscaling the fisherman aura to the more expensive version:

Plus, he seems to always have Nitefly knobs! Often they are just called fly knobs but you'll see them once you get to shopping.

Re: Pricing advices on this Fly Supreme

*I* would buy that for $2500 and I'm not even in a buying place.
So you know you are in the quick sale price range.

If none of the electronics are stock I might even be more interested.

Re: Adding an Ibanez Dynamix Alter Switch on a Fly

This brief VJ essay about strings is the most valuable thing you will read all year. The things to remember is its just magnets and steel producing signal. You can alter or mutate that signal (which I'm obsessed with) or you can see what kids of acoustic stuff you can get out of the magnets and stee...

Re: Piezo users…

Somewhere that I couldn't find is a rig rundown of Pete Townshend's gear. I think it's his guitar tech they interview, but it might be Pete, and he gives a very clear demonstration of how he blends piezo into his sound and when he uses it and why. Its worth your time. It was a print interview where ...

Re: Most trouble-free solution (tracking-wise) for guitar synth?

I've actually gotten the AX-100 rackmaount unit to track as well as the tripleplay, but YMMV. Its old, but not as old as me. The newer stuff will always be supported longer, but eventually this will pass. It really just depends upon what you want to do with it. I ended up going with the GK3 > GR55 f...

Re: Most trouble-free solution (tracking-wise) for guitar synth?

You are looking for the fisherman tripleplay. Do some searches and let jennifer batten lead you down that road. Alternately, there's a big learning curve to the other options. The big thing is that it will change the WAY you play: less sloppy and more classical technique to avoid ghost notes. you wi...

Re: 2001 Fly Supreme

What I think is crazy is all that work that went into building it and they sold it with a gig bag. I *do* swear by the parker gig bags, though. I spent a fortune buying an artist recently (2 years? 3 years ago.) that was a beater and STILL overpriced for what it was and I had to buy 2 deluxe to salv...

Re: The Eagle has landed!

Mine has that same thing: Piezo & Mags together are a bit louder than expected. I kind of solved this by adjusting the piezo on the board under the hood, but I still need to dial it down. Middle position mags is the best sound i've ever gotten out of a guitar, though, and sounds different with d...
