Re: Local Tech/Repair Resource:
Whatever you end up doing, @NailCommunication, please keep us updated. I ended up going with a local repair tech at Dave's Guitar Shop in WI because the prices at Third Coast were thrice as high. It was a simple job, just a replacement of the USM-era pots and switches to the ones recommended on the...

Re: Three-Ridge Spring Plate with Bumper
Something's been on my mind, though: For the non-bumpered plates (that are to keep the bridge in a perma-float state) how is the guitar to be tuned?

Re: Three-Ridge Spring Plate with Bumper
Have you noticed a difference in form or function with the non-bumpered plates?
Oh and you're talking the ridge closest to the end that has the most resistance, I take it.

Re: Three-Ridge Spring Plate with Bumper
Couple questions: 1: Do you know when the three-ridge spring plates went from being manufactured with bumpers to without? Because I have a refined fly with a bumper on the spring plate and can't recall ever seeing a plate without a bumper. 2: Does it matter which of the three ridges the flat spring ...

Re: Local Tech/Repair Resource:
For a while now I've been planning to take my Fly to 3rd Coast in Chicago but am wary of their big city prices. The Third Coast website has a special section of repair estimates just for Parkers, surprisingly. If I can get a quote from them that fits my budget then I will take it to them next month ...

Re: Could Parker guitars return?
They always seemed like high-end boutique guitars with a lot of fit-and-finish labor, rather than a brand emphasizing or showcasing new technology. That's a pretty spot-on assessment. Andrea "Manne" Ballarin seems to be more about incorporating and refining his own ideas than using others...

Re: Springs
I even remember EVH referring to Floyd Rose himself as a numbnut! Lol Source: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/van_halen_i_came_up_with_a_key_component_of_floyd_rose_they_fucking_patented_it_behind_my_back.html That was the start of a beautiful friendship between Eddie and hi...

Re: Could Parker guitars return?
mmmguitar I have a question for you: Have you ever played a Manne Guitar? Since you are giving a comprehensive description of your experiences with your Aristides H/06 guitar, that made me think of Manne Guitars and if you have ever tried any of their guitars, particularly the Taos model. If so the...

I too want that chrome fly guitar
Funny how the Floyd bridges seem to boast that they are a relic of the past, using the same design as 40 years ago.

Re: the Anatomy of a Fly
Hi everyone, First time poster here. I've got a USM-era Graphtec refined fly deluxe that I am planning on replacing the faulty factory pots and switches on. From reading on possible replacement parts on this page I have a couple questions: 1. Does the Three-way magnetic pickup switch (on-on-on) [ori...
